The RMA are not actively recruiting for individuals to become Accredited Assessors for the purpose of Sections 210B and 210D of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act (1995), as the number of RMA Accredited Assessors is sufficient to meet the current demands for the completion of Risk Assessment Reports. The position will be subject to ongoing review and any changes will be publicised on our web site.
Our accreditation process is designed to be as supportive and facilitative as possible. We offer support to applicants in reaching the required level of competence via training.
We recognise that the most important aspect in the delivery of appropriate and timely risk assessment is not the profession of the assessor but his or her knowledge, skills and experience.
Our Accredited Risk Assessor application was developed in consultation with a wide variety of stakeholders and practitioners. The pack sets out the process that a person must follow to become an Accredited Risk Assessor. The pack is built around the core competencies for assessors, approved by the RMA Accreditation Committee.
