Standards and Guidelines for risk assessment

 

The Standards and Guidelines for Risk Assessment apply to an accredited assessor appointed by the High Court to undertake risk assessments for individuals being considered for an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR).

 

The purpose of these standards is to make sure that all reports are of the required standard. The RMA evaluate every risk assessment report maintain the quality of Risk Assessment Reports (RAR).

Standards and Guidelines for risk management

 

The Standards and Guidelines for Risk Management relate to the management of individuals who are subject to an OLR. They also apply to the management of individuals who present a risk of serious harm.

 

The standards and guidelines are based on research and also provide practical guidance for the application of standards. The Standards and Guidelines for Risk Management also provide guidance about the roles, responsibilities and processes relating to the preparation, implementation and review of a Risk Management Plan (RMP).

FRAME

 

The Framework for Risk Assessment, Management and Evaluation (FRAME) outlines the agreed policy approach between justice agencies in Scotland to risk assessment and risk management.

 

The policy aims to develop consistent and evidence based approach to risk assessment and management, which applies across all agencies and individuals who offend.

The framework, developed in collaboration with justice agencies, sets out a tiered and proportionate approach which supports practice at minimal, comprehensive and intensive levels.
