Training

We provide a variety of learning initiatives to support our justice colleagues in delivering effective risk assessment and management. This includes the Fundamentals of Risk Practice training courses which has been delivered to justice social workers and police since 2015.

We’re also often asked to present on risk-related subjects across various forums. If you think we may be able to help with a risk-related input or would like to find out more about the training we offer, get in touch.

POLICE PRACTICE COURSE

Originally a two day face-to-face course co-delivered with Police Scotland to offender management officers, it was redeveloped during COVID-19 to a one-day online course.

These courses introduce the knowledge required to undertake the risk assessment process and prepare a Risk Management Plan. They have been specifically tailored to meet the needs of officers who have responsibility for assessing and managing those who pose a risk of serious harm. The course broadly covers the risk assessment process – identification, analysis, evaluation & communication and the principles outlined within our Framework for Risk Assessment, Management and Evaluation (FRAME).
