Role: Research Assistant
Location: Hybrid Working (Minimum of two days per week in our Paisley Office)
Salary: Grade 3 (£31,093 – £34,069)
Contract: Full Time (37 hours per week) Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
THE ROLE

We are looking for a temporary Research Assistant to join our OLR team at the Risk Management Authority (RMA), on a 12-month fixed term contract. The RMA is a non-departmental public body which focuses on protecting the public from the risk of serious harm posed by violent and sexual offending.  

The Research Assistant will support and contribute to a range of research projects under supervision of the development team. You will work on advancing effective practice in the field of risk assessment and management practice. As well as supporting the range of functions at RMA to support the promotion of effective practice.  

Responsibilities will include conducting literature searches and translating literature into accessible and succinct summaries. You will be expected to conduct data input and analysis. Identify opportunities to apply research findings to practice. You will also liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support research activities.  

THE PERSON

You should be qualified to post-graduate level in a relevant social science subject and have previous experience of quantitative research. The successful candidate will demonstrate good organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise workload effectively and efficiently. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of the criminal justice system and research literature on risk assessment and management is desirable.
